Treatment via today's science is only half the battle. From there, rehabilitation is a necessary part of recovery. Surgically repairing the spinal cord does not automatically allow someone to walk again. Time and training is needed for someone to relearn how to walk. Rehabilitative care is essential for the complete recovery from spinal cord injuries.
